Thermage CPT

The Thermage “Eyes, Face and Body” procedure helps to smooth and tighten your skin for an overall naturally younger looking appearance and decrease wrinkles and hooding in the eye area without surgery or injections as well as little to no downtime. Thermage CPT is currently the most popular skin tightening device in the world. It is used to remove sagging skin and early wrinkles. The procedure uses a patented, unipolar radio-frequency technology to safely heat the collagen in the deep layers of your skin. The heating causes the collagen fibres to contract and increases collagen growth. This effect causes your skin to tighten and smooth out. Read on to learn more.

Who can be Treated with Thermage CPT?

Almost anyone can be safely treated with Thermage CPT. Regardless of your age, gender, or skin type, Thermage CPT is a safe procedure for you. The exceptions to this rule are pregnant women and patients who have a heart implant device. Anyone who is pregnant or has a heart implant device could be at risk of the heating process affected them. For the most part, Thermage would even be safe in those circumstances, but for the sake of safety and morality, doctors will not perform the procedure anyway.

What Happens During and After the Treatment?

During the procedure, you will feel a warm sensation. The heat is tolerable, but for those who dislike the feeling, we have numbing creams and painkillers available to alleviate this discomfort. After the treatment, you may experience some redness on your skin. Some common temporary side effects are swelling, blisters, and bumps. These side effects tend to last less than a week. There is no special care you need to take after the procedure. As soon as you are done, you can go back to your regular activities.

When Will I See the Results?

Typically, most see small improvements immediately after the procedure. Sometimes the improvements do not show for a week or even a month. Your treatment results will be fully apparent within six months from when you complete the procedure. Many patients find that their full results are apparent after just three months, however, you can rest assured knowing that your results will show one way or the other.

How Long Will the Results Last?

Within a period of six months, the collagen in your skin will have tightened to the point where you have no sagging skin in the area of treatment. The effects will revert your skin to a time period between seven to ten years prior to the procedure. Generally, your skin will continue to age as if you were that many years younger again. Based on this, you can expect your results to last anywhere up to ten years. If you feel as though your skin is beginning to sag again, visit your doctor and they will advise you as to whether you require additional treatment yet or not.
