What is fractional laser treatment?

Fractional lasers are used for skin resurfacing, treating acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone and for skin tightening. The Pixel laser is an Erbium Yag fractional laser that is FDA approved for skin resurfacing. The Dreampulse laser is a carbon dioxide fractional laser. Both work in a similar fashion to restore skin to a more youthful appearance.

How do fractional lasers work?

Fractional lasers remove tiny pin point areas of skin in a pixilated pattern. The skin in between the treated areas acts as a reservoir of healthy tissue to promoting rapid healing with minimal down time. This healing process stimulates the formation of collagen and new skin cells which will repair scars, fine lines and wrinkles. The new skin that emerges after a week is smoother, tighter, finer textured, clearer and fresher looking. Results are evident even after one treatment but are much better after several sessions.

Fractional laser treatment tightens lax tissue around the mouth, eyelids and neck and may be used as a complement or alternative to BTX-A Cosmetic treatment.
